Walking and Cycling Festival 2018
This year’s Walking and Cycling Festival kicks off with the launch of the Weaver’s Wheel Cycle Route on Saturday 30 June and will culminate with the re:fresh 10th Anniversary Tootle to the Tower on Sunday 8th July.

Weavers Wheel Cycle Fest - Saturday 30th June 10am - 3pm
The launch will take place at Witton Country Park and will include crazy trick bikes, penny farthings, clown bikes as well as lots of activities for all the family.
Come down and try out our Pop Up Pump Track, Balance Bikes, Adapted Bikes and electric bikes. We will also have Bike Doctor Surgery offering safety checks and FREE basic bike repairs. Qualified ride leaders will be leading guided bike rides to showcase parts of the Weavers Wheel. The Cycle Centre will be open for FREE bike hire, including helmets.
The Get Active Info Lab will be available throughout the day to provide information regarding cycling and walking activities across the borough and east Lancashire.

The Festival - Monday 2nd - Friday 6th July
From Monday 2nd July, the re:fresh Team will be showcasing their current walking and cycling programme as well as offering a number of FREE taster sessions.
Tootle to the Tower - 10th Anniversary Walk - SUnday 8th July from 10.30am
On Sunday 8 July the Team will be celebrating 10 years since the launch of re:fresh with a walk up to Darwen Tower.
Meeting at Bold Venture Park gates at 10am the first of our walks up to the Tower will set off at 10.30am. The second walk, ideal for beginners, will head up to The Avery for some Tai Chi at 10.45am before starting a short walk around the park at 11.30am.
Both walks will be expected back in the park for 12noon for refreshments.
