Older People’s Forum

What is it?

The Older People’ Forum in Blackburn with Darwen exists to promote the well-being of people over 50 by being their voice; thereby empowering and enabling effective consultation and facilitating social engagement.  The Forum hosts regular meetings on a range of topics; provides opportunities for people to get together socially and signposts people to information and services.

Who is it for?

The Forum is open to everyone 50 years of age or older, from any ethnic or cultural background and who lives or works in Blackburn with Darwen.  The Forum fully supports anyone with a disability or sensory impairment and seeks to fully assist them to access events by ensuring venues are accessible to all and equipment is in place to support anyone with sight or hearing difficulties.

The BwD Older People’s Forum is a democratically constituted, voluntary organisation and aims to fully involve members in the decision making process.
