Greensleeves Community Garden

What is it?

Greensleeves Community Garden in based in Shadsworth, off Oban Drive (pathway adjacent to number 82).  It is run by the Greensleeves Garden Group, who are a not for profit community group.  The centre has good facilities for growing both vegetables and flowers, with a greenhouse, poly tunnel and fifteen raised beds along with fruit bushes and trees.

The group runs learning sessions for both adults and young people along with regular gardening club sessions on the site.  Volunteers work with similar groups in other locations throughout the borough and share knowledge, experience and collaborate on projects from time to time.

The group funds itself through selling small items of produce and items the group makes.

Who is it for?

The group is open to new volunteers and these normally become members of the group, which is free.  While located in Shadsworth, the group is happy to accept volunteers and those wishing to learn about gardening from other areas.  All ages are welcome.
