Blackburn and District Blind Society

What is it?

Blackburn and District Blind Society is a registered charity which offers:

  • Telephone Befriending Service – providing a weekly telephone calls to people with a visual impairment who may be isolated
  • information and advice to people with visual impairment and their carers
  • a range of equipment that is available for demonstration or purchase.  Specific items can be obtained upon request
  • home visits to discuss your needs if you are unable to attend the centre
  • classroom presentations to promote awareness of living with a sight loss and to other groups on request
  • talking newspapers

The Society is entirely dependent upon donations and legacies.

Who is it for?

Anyone with a significant sight loss, their family, friends or people who care for them.
