A fresh and healthy new start at Darwen Leisure Centre café

The café at Darwen Leisure Centre has reopened today under new ownership and a bright new brand.

Daren Derrick and Alison Baldwin have opened the café called Fusilli after running similar operations in various locations in the north of England.

The café will be open the same hours as the leisure centre, offering a full range of meals and snacks, starting with breakfast for early risers. The café has already gone down well with locals and the menu is set to expand to include healthy pasta and jacket potato options, as well as lovely treats from homemade scones and biscuits to afternoon teas. The café will feature local produce as much as possible.

Daren said, “We are already bowled over by the number of customers and the level of support we have received from the staff at Darwen Leisure Centre.

“We are hoping that, as well as it being a great place to stop for a bite to eat or a drink after visiting the great facilities at Darwen, people will also visit the centre just to enjoy the food and drink Fusilli has to offer.”

The café will provide jobs for up to 8 local people in a mix of part-time and full-time roles.

The café will be open Monday to Friday 7am to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm.
